1. Explain what you think Knowledge Exchange (KE) is or means.

Knowledge exchange is meeting new people and branching out to different creative mediums. During this, peers can collaborate utilizing their areas of strength, a sculptor might cooperate with an illustrator, a painter with a fashion designer, etc.

2. Why do you think Knowledge Exchange is relevant to you?

I believe being able to work in a cross-discipline manner is vital for creative careers, learning how to collaborate outside my own field will facilitate working in the art industry.

3. How did you use research to develop ideas?

Going to scout the location as a group helped us have a clearer visualization of our piece and the context it would be placed in, we were able to develop ideas that worked in harmony with the nature around and also remained relevant to the cause. We also made sure to thoroughly research the organization before starting to come up with ideas, this way we had a firm grasp on their core values and the essence that needed to be captured in the project.

4. What new skills have you learnt in this week? Eg: practical skills or soft skills such as communication?

A skill that I developed this week was the ability to delegate, although we all came from different creative backgrounds we were able to take into account everyone's input and make sure we all had work to do through being open in communication.

5. How did you plan your time over the week?

We distributed our workload throughout the week by separating what needed to be done into 3 sections: research, idea development, and execution. We compartmentalized the work we had to do, starting with research on the organization and location scouting. Then we spent a day developing and discussing ideas with the group. The last step was creating the outcome, which we had to divide as a group because we could not go into school due to the transportation strikes. We made sure to take into account each other's strengths (eg. fine arts people worked on sculpture, people who had experience with photoshop edited photos, etc.)

6. How successful was this?

I believe that because we were able to successfully communicate and collaborate throughout the whole project, we ended up with a successful outcome. Everyone also made sure to do their part, which facilitated the whole process.

7.Name at least one ‘breakthrough’ where you recognised an important moment and reflected on it

I think we didn't realize the importance of going to the location until we actually did, by physically exploring our given location we were able to visualize what would work and what wouldn't. Being there physically is so different from just looking at photos on Google.

8. What is the most successful and what is the least successful aspect of your project?

The most successful aspect of our project was how we were all able to collaborate and contribute equally, while I'd consider the least successful to be the fact that at the beginning we struggled a bit with knowing our direction in terms of what the project implied.

9. How could you take your concepts and ideas further in the future?

It would be interesting to see how our project develops with more time and resources, I think the themes and issues it deals with are very relevant. Thinking about it, I think it would be interesting to see how our installation would work in a more urban setting rather than just inside a park.

10. How did you benefit from working with your peers from all across the course?

Working with peers who will specialize in different areas allowed me to take in different perspectives. I was able to see how the mind of illustrators, painters, etc. worked. Having so many different perspectives gives the projects a sense of freshness.
